got the passports

WE GOT THE KID'S PASSPORTS!!! YEAH! turns out we're the only family, so far, that's been approved by CIS. So later this afternoon we go for their medical, tomorrow, Friday we have our second CIS appt and then on Monday we get their travel visas. we're so excited.  let's hope Todd can get us flights home. we're so ready to leave. it's been nice here, and had we been able to leave the hotel, I'd have loved it. but it's just now that David is okay with leaving the hotel and well now we're leaving Vietnam!

from Jeff: Immigration Dept. in Hanoi is an interesting experience very much like the DMV. All of the families were represented to pick up the kids passports. Vietnamese people are very quiet and patient in government offices and we stuck out like sore thumbs.   A group of happy Americans can be very loud. Ninh apparently got scolded and asked to quiet us down. So we shuffled off to the American's corner. Adult time out. After a bit of a wait we received what we were waiting for. 2 passports with what could best be described as mugshots suitable for the local post office. So we are now the envy of all the families as the only ones absolutely on our way home. Hopefully the others will follow on our heels.
